There are 30km of clean beaches
from Leucate to Banyuls. Some
traditional with bars and restaurants.
Some with "Aqualand",
fairgrounds and childrens facilieties.
The etang (inland lake) is ideal
for windsurfing and water sports.
Opoul is a friendly wine village
overlooked by a 12th century
ruined chateau. There are two
(domaines) where you can taste
and buy the local wines, a boulangerie,
a small supermarket, a post
office and a bar.There is a
hypermarket at Rivesaltes, enroute
to the beach. Opoul has a stade,
with rugby / football pitch,
a tennis court, a play area
and a basketball court. There
is also a very well equipped
"parcours de sante"
and a childrens playground.
